Project Description
The works comprised the installation of 2.5km one meter diameter steel pipe to carry cleaned and treated wastewater from Roose safely into the waters of Walney Channel.
Sub-Contract involvement:
- Formation of 3no access ramps onto the Salt marsh
- Formation of haul road, to withstand tidal waters and provide access along the outfall route
- Open cut excavation and installation of steel pipe and cathodic protection system along salt marsh (intertidal zone, special area of conservation, special protection area, site of special scientific interest and wading birds protected site)
- Connection of new steel pipe to existing GRP pipe at the edge of protected reed beds
