Project Description
The project involved the widening of the existing Seaforth Passage by 20m to accommodate the increasing size of vessels using the Docks.
This involved:
- The demolition of approximately 140m of reinforced diaphragm wall
- Altering and extending the main Liverpool storm drainage channel and outfall into the harbour (22m deep excavations / shaft)
- Altering and extending link ducts containing HV, LV, communications and water supplies essiential for Port operations (laid across the bottom of the passage)
- Installation of new piled quay wall
